SARGODHA: Five dacoits have been killed in an alleged police encounter in Okara and Sargodha. The dead were identified as Allah Yar, Bilal Ahmad, Babar Ali, Asad Waqas, and Ali Zulqarnain.
On a tip-off that eight people were involved in a robbery on Mid-Ranjha Kot Momin road, police set off in hot pursuit. The alleged dacoits opened fire when they spotted the police personnel. Four dacoits, including Allah Yar, Bilal Ahmad, Babar Ali, and Asad Waqas died on the spot while four others fled the scene. Sources further revealed that the dacoits were known as the “Muratib Gang” in the area, which has been sealed to arrest the remaining dacoits. In Okara, one dacoit was reportedly killed in a police encounter near Aarazi Wadha Town in Okara. DPO Faisal Rana said that the dacoit was killed when his partners opened fire. The deceased was identified as Zulqarnain.
