LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday directed the Cabinet Committee on Flood to ensure implementation of protective arrangements against possible flood due to rains.
He said that the flow of rivers, canals and water channels should be monitored round the clock and that the committee should remain in contact with the Meteorological department regarding changing weather situations and immediate steps should be taken in case of any emergency.
The chief minister said that the federal and provincial institutions concerned should perform their responsibilities with effective coordination, while lack of coordination between the departments concerned would not be tolerated.
He said that abundant stock of necessary items besides edibles should be ensured and he would personally monitor the arrangements made against possible flood.
